EVE Online: Modules to be removed from certain ships during downtime this wednesday, 6 february

During downtime this Wednesday, 6 February, we will unfit ships based on changes done in the Trinity expansion in December. Some ships now have fewer module slots than they had before, but the actual modules were not removed. With this fix, all fitted modules of ships that have too many modules for their slots will be placed in the ship’s cargo hold. Since this will not only strip your modules from removed slots but all modules from the entire ship we strongly suggest that you remove additional modules from your ship yourself before the downtime!

Affected ships in the expansion were (high/med/low):

* Eos - changed to: 7/4/6 - 2 turret hardpoints removed.
* Nidhoggur - changed to: 5/5/6
* Ares - changed to: 3/3/4
* Rook - changed to: 5/7/3
* Nightmare - changed to: 6/7/5 - 4 launcher hardpoints removed.
* Phantasm - changed to: 5/6/3 - 3 launcher hardpoints removed.
* Succubus - changed to: 4/4/2 - 2 launcher hardpoints removed.

Unfortunately there was a mixup with the slot data, this has now been corrected. We apologize if it caused any concern.

Age of Conan: Beta Updates and Site Improvements

The Age of Conan official site has been updated with their regular Friday Feature, bring tidings of Beta and tests of the Capture the Flag PvP mini-game, improvements to the official site including an RSS feed and a Community Survey to harness Conan fan’s “almost unnatural love for taking surveys.”

Age of Conan 5

The most commonly asked question is “What’s going on with beta?!”

So, with that in mind, we’ll have some beta news, some website news, and some other news.

As to the beta, there was a huge new patch (several gigabytes) just a few days ago that added tons of new content and improvements to the game. We’d say more, but that would break our NDA and we’d be thrown out of our own beta. ;)

To celebrate, we’ve done two things.

First, we sent out a wave of several thousand beta invites earlier this week. This takes care of the first round of forum veterans that had not yet received their beta invite, as well as other upstanding (or lucky) individuals. These join the thousands already careening around Hyboria killing Picts, exploring dark dungeons, and sending us lots of bug reports.

Lord of the Rings Online: Session Play

The Lord of the Rings Online official site has been updated with a description of session play, one of the new features that will be added to the game in the next update. Session play will allow players to enter the world and play with a temporary character in the form of a troll, a ranger, or a chicken.

Our first content update, Book 9: Shores of Evendim, expanded the world of Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar with new quests, content, and an entire new region. For our next update we wanted to introduce something a little different!

One of the new features to be introduced in our next big content update is what we’re calling Session Play!

Session Play is a new system that allows you to play as a character other than your normal character. These characters do not have permanence, so you don’t keep them like you do your Free Peoples or monster play characters. You could play as a Ranger, a Troll, or… a chicken. It’s an opportunity to explore Middle-earth from a different - and sometimes unexpected - viewpoint.

Warhammer Online: 200,000 sign up for beta – spaces still going

The early days in the development of Warhammer Online can best be described as shaky, with projects scrapped, licenses lost and companies bought and sold but 10 days after registration opened for the MMO’s beta things are certainly looking up.

Warhammer Online

The beta registration started on May 30 and in just ten days already more than 200,000 fans had signed up, and more are welcome to do so – just follow the link below.

“Such an amazingly high number of subscribers to the website and beta test is fantastic news and very encouraging,” commented Ghislaine Le Rhun, Senior Vice President of GOA.

Warhammer Online 2
“It proves the game has already struck a cord with gamers who are hungry for the greatest MMO experience available. We are also delighted to be able to say a big ‘Thank You’ and to reward gamers’ loyalty and enthusiasm for WAR by offering them the chance to become part of the beta experience and to play the game months ahead of launch.”

The game itself should be out sometime early in the new year.

Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar - Review

Lord of the Rings Online has set the MMO world on its ear. For the long wait leading up to its release many speculated and others tested, but everyone seemed very excited. The creation of a game based around a modern classic like Lord of the Rings was certainly going to be an endeavor. The question is this though; did Turbine live up to the challenge?
